Product Description

Gel 160 is a bigger hydrogel option — encapsulating 40 grams of carbohydrates in each serving. Proven technology built with just 6 natural ingredients — no added colours, preservatives or flavours. For athletes who want more energy in each gel to fuel their training and racing.

Suitable for Vegetarians & Vegans.

Going long? Take more. It’s that simple. Gel 160 is for athletes who want more energy in each gel. In endurance sport — to maintain performance — it’s important to fuel regularly. Every fueling moment needs to count. And the further you go, the more carbs you need to sustain performance. Gel 160 helps athletes achieve the right amount of carbs per hour with proven Hydrogel Technology — no matter the situation.

The Science

HYDROGEL, WITHOUT THE LAB COAT.

Maurten Gel uses a glucose-fructose carbohydrate blend held in a hydrogel structure built from alginate. Each serving provides 40g of carbohydrate, giving athletes a clearly measurable chunk of race fuel.

Carbohydrate availability matters during prolonged exercise because the body's stored carbohydrate is finite. Taking carbohydrate during longer sessions helps provide an external fuel source and can support sustained exercise performance. Using more than one transportable carbohydrate — such as glucose and fructose — is also a common strategy when athletes are targeting higher carbohydrate intakes.

Maurten's clever bit is the delivery format: a firm, mild-tasting hydrogel rather than a syrupy traditional gel. It doesn't make carbohydrate magical. It makes getting the carbohydrate in rather neat.

40g of carbs. Very little theatre. Quite a lot of useful fuel.

How To Use

Rip the sachet, take it in stages, and let the hydrogel do its thing. Gel 160 delivers a hefty 40g of carbohydrates per serving, making it a great option for long runs, races, big training days, or anytime carrying fewer gels sounds appealing.

Some athletes take it gradually over 10–15 minutes, others send the whole thing in one hit before the suffering really begins. Either way, practice your fueling strategy in training before race day and aim to fuel consistently once sessions start stretching beyond 90 minutes.
